This week we are very excited to be listing an amazing estate collection of fine jades and scholarly objects. This sale will be our Final sale of the winter season. We will likely list another Asian arts sale in early spring. This sale offers a wide variety of fine and important Chinese works of art including many jades, bronzes, and other rarely found scholarly objects. The sale features items from two important estate collections. They include items from the estate of Mr. H Pao of Toronto who owned a high-end shop in the famous Four Seasons hotel in Toronto for several years throughout the 1980s to 1990s period.

Pao was a dear friend whom was considered one of North Americas top experts and scholars in many categories of antique Chinese art. The sale also includes jades and other early Chinese bronze and archaic items from the estate of A Abraham. Abraham was a highly respected Asian Arts dealer and collector in the 1950-70s period. Abraham owned the Imperial Jade shop in the famous King Edward hotel in Toronto until his retirement in the year 1976, 40 years ago. Most of the pieces have been in storage since the shop closed in 1976 and have not seen the light of day until now.

I do wish everyone the very best of luck winning the auctions! This carving is a very unique example that is carved of authentic natural amber. The carving is in very fine condition with no damage. The carving displays very nicely measuring 6 1/8 inches tall, by 2 3/8 inches wide, by 3 1/2 inches long at base. The boat itself measures 5 inches tall.

The carving with stone base weighs 458 grams. A fine example that would also make a great and very unique gift idea.
