Pressed amber is natural amber heated and pressed into a more regular shape than untreated amber. The beads in this listing are more regular in shape than untreated amber. The beads are massive and carry with them a sense of history and ethnic beauty. This is an antique collectible item, coveted by jewelry designers. It dates approximately to the early to mid 19th century. Good antique condition; the beads are well worn.
